An adventurer's guide

Ninth Age, 232 NA

The World of Wraidorian

You walk through the world of Wraidorian, a realm wherein magic flows like song and the gods guide history with gentle hands. You find yourselves within the Ninth Age, specifically 232 NA. This is an era of relative peace wherein knights and archers defend the land, while mages remain rare treasures on the battlefield.

Magic in Daily Life: Most citizens know a cantrip or perhaps two, with base magic being as common as humming a tune. There are those which magic fully avoids, who are pitied similarly to those who cannot carry such a melody. In a parallel, those with great power are celebrated and watched carefully, much like the most talented of performers.

Cultural Life: The races of D&D live largely in unity, though bastions of monocultures do exist where some races thrive more than others, such as dwarven under-mountain cities, or elvish villages of the trees, or Dragonborn volcano towns, or Tiefling canyon communes. Halflings tend to either co-locate with their clans either in prairies and grasslands, or find their way to every market in the empire. The rare races disperse themselves betwixt the others, to no one’s complaint.

The Hallowed Numerology

“May the Nine guide your path” — Common Wraidorian blessing of stability and safety.

In the lands of Wraidorian, numbers carry the breath of divinity itself. As such, the Sacred Nine weaves through every aspect of existence, of sentience. The Nine winds through the mystical foundation upon which reality rests.

The Sacred Nine represents completion, harmony, and cosmic balance. It is perfection through unity, as once nine great empires ruled the land, nine colleges of great magic preserved wisdom and furthered science, and the nine levels of magic stepped toward enlightenment.

Three holds deified power as the Foundation of the Nine. As such, the number three is the representation of growth, creation, and the trilogy of mind, body, and spirit.

Eleven holds as the number of pure potential, the Divine Prime, a numerological representation of the sacred unknown and mysteries yet to unfold.

The chronology of Wraidorian follows the Hallowed Numerology, with eleven months in one year, three weeks in one month, and nine days per week. The date at which we start our story is the eleventh of the third month. (Months and days may be named later, but not now.)
